Social Justice Efforts – Racism

IHM Statement on Racism

We, the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary of Malvern, PA, fully embrace the dignity of each person based on our intrinsic belief in the sanctity of all life as created and redeemed by God. Therefore, we condemn the sin of racism and any action or word of hatred and bigotry based on the degradation of any person.

We commit ourselves to the work of healing racism. By participating in the process of creating right relationships, healing and reconciliation, we are determined to recognize and confront the many systems and pervasive indifference that breed racism within ourselves, our congregation, our church, and our global community.

We stand in solidarity with all persons who denounce racist words and actions and with people everywhere who seek a society built on justice, truth, and peace.
