ONGOING FORMATION BOOK REVIEW – Unshakeable: Building a Life of Virtue in a World of Chaos

If you’re like me and often feel dizzied by the sometimes-chaotic news from the world around us, I found a very good read in the book, Unshakeable: Building a Life of Virtue in a World of Chaos by Fr. Mike Schmitz.

This book isn’t about escaping a troubled world; it’s about steering through it by choosing virtue and forging a character that simply can’t be broken because it is rooted in Christ. Fr. Mike guides the reader in how to build a resilient inner life, starting with the essential traits that I think are crucial today: humility, generosity, integrity, and joy. He then expertly leads us through mastering the pillars of living out our faith: The Cardinal and Theological Virtues.

What I truly loved was how incredibly down-to-earth Fr. Mike is. His writing is clear, honest, relatable, and easy to enjoy. He gives incredibly practical advice, making the book feel less like a heavy academic read and more like a spiritual roadmap.

Reading it helped me focus on ways to nurture a life of unshakeable peace and lasting joy. It’s a very good and easy read. I absolutely recommend it!
