Marie Mount was born on October 6, 1934. Her parents, Joseph and Marie (McGrane) Mount raised their family of 4 girls and 2 boys in St. Francis de Sales Parish in Philadelphia.

Marie entered the Community shortly after graduation from high school on September 8, 1952. She received her habit and her religious name, Sister Maureen Patrice, on March 9, 1953. Sister pronounced her First Vows on March 9, 1955. When given permission to do so, Sister returned to the use of her baptismal name.
Sister’s teaching ministry began in March 1955. Sister taught grade-school children in Immaculate Conception, Germantown and Incarnation, Trenton through December 1960. In January 1961, Sister Marie was asked to serve high school students at Villa Maria in Santiago, Chile. Sister remained in Chile through the school year ending in 1966. Sister Marie returned to her High School Alma Mater, West Catholic Girls’ High, in the fall of 1994 where she delighted in serving as an Office Assistant for the next 6 years. Following her ministry at West Catholic, Sister Marie served students at SS. John Neumann/Maria Goretti High as an assistant in the Guidance Office for the next 15 years, 2004-2019.
Graciousness and joyfulness characterized Sister Marie’s carrying out of every loving act of service throughout her religious life. In the fall of 2019, Sister Marie desired to serve our Sisters in Camilla Hall and she did so with fidelity and kindness until the suddenness of a stroke brought her loving service to completion. May our beautiful IHM Sister rest in peace.
