Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Elect New Leadership Team

IMMACULATA, PA., July 3, 2023— The election of the congregational leaders of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary took place at Villa Maria House of Studies on Friday and Saturday, June 30 – July 1, 2023.

One hundred seventy-four sister delegates elected Sister Mary Ellen Tennity, General Superior of the Congregation and Sister John Evelyn DiTrolio, Sister Assistant, Sister Monica Therese Sicilia, First Councilor; Sister Mary Sue Carwile, Second Councilor; and Sister Kathleen Monica Schipani, Third Councilor.

In addition to providing leadership and guidance during their 5-year term, the General Administration oversees the work of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in the United States and South America, which includes education at all levels and pastoral and other diverse outreach ministries.

The Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary of the Immaculata branch of the Congregation comprise approximately 550+ Sisters who currently staff Catholic schools, parishes and outreach programs in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, Georgia, Florida and in the South American country of Peru.

The charism of the sisters is Love, which continues to manifest itself today in the sisters’ joyful service of God and his people; creative Hope, which puts all its confidence in God’s loving Providence; and Fidelity, which inspires fervor in their vocation in Christ and in their mission in the Church.
