Sister’s parents Lawrence and Barbara (Krajscan) Conjar were born in Croatia, when they settled in the United States they raised their family of nine children in St. James Parish in Steelton, PA.
Catarin attended St. James Elementary School (1938-1946), and Catholic High, later known as Bishop McDevitt High School, (1946-1950). While in Community, Sister earned a degree from Immaculata College and St. Charles Seminary.
Catarin entered the Congregation on September 8, 1950; she received her habit and her religious name, Sister Regina Carol, on March 26, 1951, and pronounced her First Vows on April 5, 1953.
From the spring of 1953 through the school year ending in 1968, Sister taught second grade children at St. William in Philadelphia, seventh and eighth grade children at St. Charles in Cornwells Heights, and eighth grade children at St. Anselm in Philadelphia.
From the fall of 1968 through the school year ending in 1979, Sister Catarin taught Religion to high school students at Notre Dame in Miami, Archbishop Wood in Warminster, and Hallahan in Philadelphia.
Sister Catarin served as the Dean of Activities at Bishop McDevitt High School in Wyncote from 1981 through 1984 and at Archbishop Prendergast during the 1984-1985 school year.
In the fall of 1985 until August 2003 Sister Catarin served as Dean of Students at Immaculata University; from the fall of 2003 until 2018 Sister served as Dean of International Students. While Sister worked tirelessly wherever she served, her thirty-three years of service and positive influence at Immaculata touched the hearts and minds of many students, colleagues, fellow IHMs, and community members.
Always desirous of rendering joyful service, Sister Catarin brought that characteristic gift with her when she joined the staff at Camilla Hall in August 2018. Sister served joyfully until her death on March 16, 2024. God rest her beautiful soul.
