Sister Carol Marie Repholz died in Camilla Hall on January 23, 2021 in the 70th year of her religious life.
Caroline Repholz was born on October 9, 1942 in Philadelphia. Her parents Frank and Annette (Butts) Repholz raised their family of three sons and one daughter in St. Veronica Parish in Philadelphia. Caroline attended St. Veronica Elementary School and Little Flower High School. Caroline graduated from Little Flower in 1950. Later while in Community, Sister Carol earned her B.S. degree in Home Economics from Immaculata College and an M.A. in Home Economics from Drexel University.
Caroline entered the Community on September 8, 1950. She received her habit and her religious name, Sister Carol Marie, on March 26, 1951. Sister pronounced First Vows on April 5, 1953.
Shortly after Profession, Sister Carol Marie began her teaching ministry. Sister taught children in grades 2, 3, 5, 7, and 8 until the school year ending 1963. During this period of time, Sister served in Villa Maria Santiago, Chile for 1 year.
The next phase of Sister Carol’s ministry was teaching high school students from the fall of 1962 to 2007 in a number of places. Sister taught at Annunciation, Shenandoah and Notre Dame Academy in Miami. In the Philadelphia area, Sister taught students at West Catholic, Hallahan, St. Maria Goretti and St. Hubert.
Sister Carol ministered at St. Hubert High School for 28 years. Sister taught students there from the fall of 1983 through the school year ending 2007. In the fall of 2007 until the school year ending 2011, Sister served as an assistant in the Student Services Office.
Sister left her beloved St. Hubert High School in 2011 to continue serving in prayer and presence at Camilla Hall where she was a member of the Apostolate of Prayer and Assistance community. Sister Carol Marie lived all that the Lord asked of her until her death in Camilla on January 23, 2021.
In addition to her Congregation of IHM Sisters, Sister Carol Marie is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Sister is predeceased by her parents Frank and Annette (Butts) and her brothers Frank, (Alice), Joseph (Mary Ann) and Nicholas.
The Visitation and Funeral Mass for Sister Carol Marie was private. During this time of the Covid pandemic, only a limited number of family members were able to attend. The Funeral Mass was celebrated in Camilla Hall on Friday, January 29, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. Reverend Louis Monica celebrated Sister’s Funeral Liturgy and delivered a meaningful homily.
