Sister Regina Foy, IHM died in Camilla Hall on Thursday, October 15, 2020. Sister died of natural causes, this death is not Covid related.
Regina was born on August 12, 1938. Regina’s parents, Thomas and Helen (Jacober) Foy raised their family in St. Martin of Tours Parish in Philadelphia. Regina attended St. Martin of Tours and Ascension Elementary Schools then went to Little Flower High School from which she graduated in 1956. Later, while in the community, Sister earned degrees from Immaculata University, West Chester State, and Notre Dame University.
Regina entered the Congregation on September 8, 1956; she received her habit and her religious name, Sister Mary Aloysius, on March 9, 1957. Sister Aloysius pronounced First Vows on August 19, 1958.
Beginning in August 1958 through August 1969 Sister taught children in grades 3, 5, 7 along with Music in Immaculate Conception School Somerville, NJ and in Epiphany School in Miami, FL. In 1969 through 1981, Sister taught music to high school students in Shanahan, Immaculata High School in Somerville, and Central Catholic in Allentown. For the next 36 years, Sister Regina taught music to students at Immaculata University. Wherever Sister taught, she exuded faith and joy!
In August 2017, Sister Regina entered the Community of Camilla Hall where she was a part of the Apostolate of Prayer until her death on October 15, 2020.
Due to strict regulations during this time of the Covid 19 Pandemic, the Funeral Mass was semi private on Thursday, October 22, 2020 and private interment. A limited number of family members were invited to attend the Funeral Mass. Reverend Dennis Gill was the Celebrant and Homilist; concelebrants included Reverend John J. Sibel, Reverend Brandon Artman, and Reverend William Trader.
Sister Regina Foy’s dear parents Thomas and Helen (Jacober) Foy predecease Sister. Sister is survived by her sisters Rita Muller (Robert, Jr.), Kathleen F. Fischer, Patricia Corbett (Joseph T.) and her brothers Richard T. and James E. Foy many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and her Congregation of IHM Sisters. May her beautiful soul rest in peace!
