IHM Stories
You brought a vine out of Egypt. Before it, you cleared the ground; it took root and spread throughout the land." -- Ps 80
This is a page where you can find links to some stories of IHM deeds and service. The IHM tradition, nurtured by a pioneering spirit, led the Sisters to do things that were beyond their imagining. The missions they established, the schools they opened and staffed, the social and spiritual services they rendered were made possible by what is called "sponsorship." Initiated by inspiration, fired by charism, and fostered through commitment, sponsorship is the ongoing, loving, human and physical support nurtured by individuals who share a vision and carry out a purpose greater than themselves.
This is the IHM story--from Baltimore, to Monroe, from Susquehanna to Reading, from Philadelphia to Immaculata, they came from farmland and coal mines to urban industry, from log cabin to university, to answer the call of Jesus Christ the Redeemer.
