Culture of Vocations

101_0771When one speaks of “culture” it brings to mind a set of beliefs, values, attitudes and practices that identifya group of people and serve to support the goals and work of that particular group. A “culture of vocations” within a particular religious community would be the set of beliefs, values, attitudes and practices that support the cultivation and retention of vocations in that community.

Within the IHM Congregation, each member is challenged to reflect on the ways she lives out her religious vocation and to examine how the IHM “culture” may attract or deter those who are consid ering religious life today. Some of the core values of religious life to be defined, strengthened and shared are: Charism; Spirituality and Prayer; Community Life; and Ministry within the Church.
